Sofra , London – Turkish Delight!
While you are on your shopping expedition on Oxford Street, look out for the landmark purple clock { somewhere in between Selfridges and the Disney Store } The Clock will direct you towards the entrance to St Christopher’s Place – home to an assorted mix of restaurants , shops, boutiques and bars.
Sofra is a small intimate restaurant with simple decor & comfortable seating arrangement. Dont be disappointed if you dont get a table immediately, the staff is very attentive and will do their best to accomodate . For those unfamiliar with Mediterranean cuisine, the charming restaurant Sofra is a great place to start. This chic Bistro serves a vast selection of traditional Turkish Delights.
My husband is a foodie and loves to experiment . He highly recommends Suzuk – a spicy oven baked Beef sausage with Cherry Tomato and Olive Dressing & Salmon Fillet cooked with olive and served with potato puree and fresh greens.
I stick to my favourites everytime i dine here.My recommendations – Fattoush Salad made of Green leaves , Fresh Herbs , crispy bread & olive dressing , followed by Ali Nazik – Tender chargrilled chicken over a velvety smoky Aubergine Puree { Yes you read it right -‘Aubergine’ puree is a lusciously flavorsome turkish delicacy} served with gourmet Yoghurt and a hint of Garlic.
Sofra St Christophers Place is Steeped in Alfresco Charm. The outdoor seating area is rain safe and is well equipped with effective heaters. A perfect place for all seasons !
The staff at Sofra is courteous and the service is impeccable. Your drinks arrive in 2 minutes & delicious starters are offered complimentary. If you do not like what is served , you can return it and the chef will be happy to cater to your suggestions and requests. In today’s commercially oriented world, such customer focussed restaurants are hard to come by. At Sofra, its all about warm and hearty service, Delish food, generous portions and Big smiles !
