Laduree’ – Quaint Parisian Tea Salon

IMG_3044

London weather has taken us all by surprise! We are enjoying an extended Indian Summer & the warmer weather is expected to stay till mid October. When the weather’s looking good, nothing beats dining Al Fresco . So I head out to Covent Garden – overly touristy yet refreshingly charming marketplace in Central London. On a sunny day – Laduree – a Parisian style Tea Salon is the best place to enjoy a glass of champagne or a cup of Tea while watching the miming and juggling street acts in Covent Garden.

Ladurée { pronounced  lah/dew/ray } is a French luxury bakery and sweets maker house established in the year 1862.  Covent Garden – Ladurée is the patisserie’s first stand-alone tea salon in London, serving savoury snacks and champagne, sweet treats & signature macarons .

St Paul’s Church on one side, Jubilee Hall Market on the other, views from Laduree’ terrace are extremely engaging . Covent Garden’s Jubilee Hall Market sells everything from antiques to food, arts and crafts to souvenirs. Hop across to the Jubilee Market & indulge in some retail therapy after enjoying a Parisian style afternoon session with friends & family at Laduree.

Parisians are all about class, style, elegance, and finesse ! The interiors are Beautifully crafted, & thoughtfully designed . Laduree’ menu is simple yet has a Parisian flair to it . A toned-down & minimalist design effectively conveys a sense of elegance.

The all buttoned-up attire of the Laduree Staff added a subtle Parisian sophistication to the place.

Prepared in a small kitchen by a head chef brought over from Paris, the hot & cold dishes are put together with skill. Presentation is everything. My Concorde Salad emerges as a huge bowl carefully wrapped in cucumber slices with spinach shoots & grilled chicken fillet on top , glazed lightly with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing!

Ladurée are best known for its macaroons, millefeuilles {pronounced meel-foy)  and tartes. Did you know Laduree’ is one of the top premier sellers of the double-decker macaron, fifteen thousand of which are sold every day !

The legendary macarons are delicious and sinful. The orange blossom macaroons are my favourite.

Give the quintessentially British Afternoon Tea a touch of Parisian chic with Laduree’s latest collection of teapots and teacups. The new all-porcelain range is available in three charming prints, decorated in gold with either rosebuds, floral prints or butterflies. To host a memorable tea party, all you need to add is a sumptuous selection of macaroons.

Cobbled streets add character & old world charm to the entire Covent Garden market place.

Immerse yourself in Covent Garden’s vibrant atmosphere at a table on the cobbled Piazza, or grab a comfy seating corner inside or reserve a table on the bijou-Parisian-style balcony overlooking St Paul’s Church. Deciding on where to sit & what to drink or eat is going to be a tough one here at Laduree – you will be spoilt for choice !
